GEO-NEIGE - Geomorphology of Northern Ellesmere Island in the Global Environment Projet de recherche au Canada
The GEO-NEIGE research program is the geosystem segment of the NEIGE project,
which aims at understanding the structure, processes, interactions and biodiversity of
High Arctic ecosystems/geosystems and evaluate their behaviour in front of climate
changes. This segment of the program studies the structures and processes driving the
interactions between Ward Hunt Lake and its watershed, as an example of landscape
control on lake dynamics. The research focuses on slope morphology, flow paths and
mass and energy transfer through the watershed and to the lake by geomorphologic,
hydrologic, and geochemical surveys.
